Dr. Patricia B. Gatbonton – Medical Projects Adviser
MD, FPCP, FPSEM
Dr. Gatbonton finished AB Humanities PreMed at UP Diliman and subsequently obtained her medical degree at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMC).
Her internship and internal medicine residency were at the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and was Chief Fellow in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the UP Philippine General Hospital.
When she returned to Lourdes in 1996, she served as the employee’s physician for 2 years.
She was training officer of the Department of Medicine for 10 years until 2006.
She was appointed as Chairman of the Department in June 2013.
Dr. Gatbonton was also a Clinical Instructor Part Time at the UERMMMC from 2002-2004.
She awarded the Most Outstanding Alumni for Leadership in 2010.
Dr. Gatbonton is a past president of the Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
She has written extensively on health issues and was editor-in-chief of Health News Magazine and health editor of the Manila Times Publishing Corporation from 2002-2012.
For the last five years, she has been the chief copy editor of the Journal of the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies.
Dr. Gatbonton is a past and current member of the advisory board and speaker’s bureaus for Merck Serono, Eli Lilly, Novartis, Glaxo Smith Kline, and Abbott, enjoys the speakers’ Circuit and participates in clinical trials both locally and in the ASEAN region.
When she isn’t seeing patients, traveling, or writing, she dives the open waters of the Philippine archipelago and plays the flute.
